How dilution math works

The calculation uses the standard dilution equation: C₁V₁ = C₂V₂. This equation calculates V1 only when C1 and C2 use the same concentration basis and the label explicitly permits dilution. It does not determine whether a target concentration is appropriate.

Final volume is not the same as water amount

V₂ is the total prepared solution volume. Read C1 and C2 from the same label → choose V2 → calculate V1 → measure V1 → add only the label-approved diluent until the total prepared volume reaches V2.

Why the label still controls

The manufacturer label dictates the product amount, approved diluent, and final volume. The calculator must not reinterpret a label ratio as a final-concentration instruction.
